What new to do on this International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on eighthday of March. On this day, we celebrate amazing social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women, while also stirringpeople towards gender equality.

The world has been celebrating the International Women’s Day (IWD)since the early 1900s.Since then, we’ve made a great progress, yet the issue of gender inequality persists across the world.

The UN estimates that globally for work of equal value, women only make 77 cents for every dollar earned by men. In spite of comprising over half the population, women occupy less than 23 per cent of parliamentary seats worldwide. Furthermore, in many countries women still suffer excessively from lack of education, poverty, and lack of access to health-care.

It was also estimated the females are severely underrepresented at leadership and senior management levels. In 2016, only 4.2 per cent of 500 fortune companies had a female CEO.

In recent years, there has been a huge increase in the number of businesses celebrating IWD, around the world. There is a growing need that people across the world should strive for female representation at all levels of business.
