Amway India implements new strategies, launches Glister Herbals toothpaste

The home-grown US based, fast moving consumer goods company Amway’s India division, Amway India has forayed into the oral healthcare segment with their globally renowned Glister Herbals toothpaste. The company aims to reach revenue levels of Rs 44 crore in the next two years. The global herbal oral care market is presently valued at Rs 1,980.

Amway India, chief marketing officer, Sundip Shah said, “Glister Herbals toothpaste has been one of our most popular global brands. A bestseller for over five decades, it has won the trust of millions of consumers worldwide…”

The decision to foray into oral healthcare segment came after the appointment of Milind Pant as the CEO for its Indian business. A name amongst Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichayi and other such Indians in the top management of big companies, Pant will hold a seat in the board of directors of the company.

Pant was formerly employed with Yum Brands and was the president of Pizza Hut, responsible for the markets outside the US, including Asia and Europe. He was a part of Unilever before being employed with Yum Brands. As the vice president he was taking care of the African, Middle Eastern and Turkey markets. His tenure with Amway has begun in January 2019, and he will directly be reporting to the organization’s board of directors.

Amway is currently valued at $8.6 billion and is the world’s largest direct selling company. India is the seventh largest market for Amway and with the launch of Glister Herbals toothpaste, it aims at expanding its footprint.
