Hanjer Biotech Energies Pvt. Ltd. offers advice on E-waste Management

“In India, about 76% of e-waste workers are suffering from respiratory ailments due to improper management of e-waste”, said Irfan Furniturewala, CMD of Hanjer Biotech Energies Pvt. Ltd. Considering this fact, there is a dire need of proper execution of e-waste management. It has been found that private, public and government sectors are majorly responsible to produce e-waste in India. The individual households also contribute to it but less as compared to the entire commercial sector.

It has been found and proven that there are adverse effects of e-waste on environment and on human health. On producing e-waste, impacts such as, pollution of ground water, acidification of soil is expected to follow. Furthermore, the impacts on human health such as DNA damage, lung cancer and chronic damage to brain are likely to happen.

On this Environment Day, which happens to be on 5 June, Hanjer Biotech, Pune delivers various options to dispose of the e-waste, such as computers. These are:

• If your computers are in working condition, donate them to any NGO in the field of education or to a school.
• If your computers are not reusable, give them back to the manufacturers.
• Give it to any recycling facility to ensure proper disposal of the computer.
Reduce…Reuse…Recycle…Repeat..!!!!

E-waste (electronic waste) refers to the obsolete electronics or thrown away appliances which run with electricity. For example, when you buy a new washing machine and discard the old washing machine, the discarded one will be considered as e-waste.

  • Such innovations are much needed in the country like India where people possess limited knowledge about recycling.

  • E-Waste is bigger problem for us now cause it will no decompose easily. So first thing if possible don't throw away the old, donate them so someone can still use it. E-waste Management is more important otherwise it will affect and harm the environment more. So everyone should give their efforts towards this and make sure that you are not harming the environment direct or indirect way.
