As coronavirus outbreak brings the entire world to a standstill, the Government of India too has announced a 21-day lockdown across the country. India’s fight against coronavirus was taken up by a notch when PM Narendra Modi announced the CARES fund in a bid to raise capital to combat Covid-19.
Several celebrities have since then shown their support to the government by making their contributions to the PM-CARES fund. The recent ones to join the fight against the deadly virus are husband-wife duo Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty.

According to the reports, Raj Kundra and wife Shilpa Shetty have donated Rs. 21 lakh to the PM-CARES fund as their contribution to the government’s efforts of aiding the people affected due to the outbreak. Shetty took it to microblogging platform Twitter, to announce her contribution.
“For humanity, our country, and fellow citizens that need us; now is the time, let’s do our bit. Raj Kundra and I pledge Rs. 21 lacs to Narendra Modi Ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Every drop in the ocean counts, so I urge you all to help fight this situation,” she tweeted from her account.
Shetty further mentioned the bank details of the fund set up by PM Modi, and urged her followers to make as much contribution as they can. “There is no better exercise for the heart than to reach out and lift the helpless. Swipe for all the information to donate to Narendra Modi Ji’s PM-CARES Fund. They say, nothing is excess or less when your actions are intended for a better tomorrow… give what you can to do your bit,” the actress wrote in her tweet.

Just like Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, several other celebs have also joined the bandwagon. These include Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, etc. South actors like Prabhas, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rana Daggubatti, Ram Charan Teja, etc. have also donated to the PM-CARES fund.
