Kolhapur boy, Aditya Patil scored 190/200 in MH-CET

Small town boy Aditya Patil did his best in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, but couldn’t believe his own eyes when he saw the results and made his city proud by scoring 190 out of 200. The result got declared on June 5, 2015 and made a lot of aspirants’ dream come true.

More than 40 students of Kohlapur cracked the MH-CET apart from Aditya Patil. He took the coaching from a private coaching center of the city, Chate Academy which provides coaching for numerous CETs across the nation.

This year, approx 1 lakh 89 thousand students appeared for MH-CET, out of which more than 3700 students cracked the entrance, which made it 20% of all. Now they all are eligible for taking admissions in top medical and dental colleges across Maharashtra, for pursuing MBBS and BDS respectively. It is a noteworthy rise of 15% from last years’ results, which is (recent) the best success rate since 2010.

The reason behind this rise in passing percentage is said to be the last minute change in the syllabus along with removal of negative marking, as per an official of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Thisyear, CET registrations also rose up to 26% as compared to last year’s 1.53 lakh. Syllabus of Class 12th

State Board, was considered appropriate syllabus for this year’s CET. Pune girl Harshitha Shetty bagged the title of Rank 1 with 199 marks out of 200. Nagpura boy Amit Dashputra secured the 2nd position with 198 marks along with Afrid Jaipuri from Akola, who came 3rd in the race. Even after securing Rank 1, 2 and 3 with such good marks, total success rate of Maharashtra is least in the nation, at 17.8%.

CET took place on May 7 this year, in which 1.04 lakh girls and 84,929 boys took part, but out of them, only 22.9% and 18.24% were able to crack the exam, in the particular order.
