NTA NEET 2021 Exam Date Update: List of documents required to register for medical entrance test and more!

NTA NEET 2021 Exam Date Updates: The process registration for NEET-UG 2021 will be started by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the new exam dates for the MBBS/BDS entrance exam on Monday. The exam will be held on September 12, as per the latest announcement. NEET aspirants will register for the exam at from 5 pm on July 13.

To ensure social distancing amid Covid this year, the number of test cities have been increased. The number of cities has been increased from 155 to 198 and the number of examination centres will be increased too. In 2020 there were a total of 3862.

Candidates need: Soft copies of the candidate’s photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, class 10 mark sheet, class 10 passing certificate, class 12 mark sheet, class 12 passing certificate, ID proof (such as Aadhaar Card).

It was announced that the exam will be held on August 1 earlier in April. However, the exam was postponed due to the COVID-19 situation across the country. Last year, the NEET-UG 2020 was conducted on September 13 abiding strict precautions. A total of 13.66 lakh candidates appeared in the exam of whom 7,71,500 qualified.

Following the amendment in National Medical Commission Act, 2019, from last year, the admissions to MBBS courses in thirteen All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry, are also being made through NEET.

The Education Minister tweeted “the number of cities where the NEET 2021 entrance examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198 in order to ensure social distancing due to COVID-19 pandemic. The NTA has also decided to increase the number of examination centres from the current 3862 centres.”
