At the Hindustan Times Scholarship Program 2019, students of Ryan International School made their mark by emerging as some of the brightest among 150 students selected from Mumbai, Pune and Chandigarh. They were awarded a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 each.
For the uninitiated, the Hindustan Times Scholarship Program is an initiative started by the leading national daily in a bid to recognize and reward the academically excelling students from classes 5th to 9th in the aforementioned cities.
C.V.S Amrutha of Ryan International School, Nerul, emerged as one of the students selected by Hindustan Times for the scholarship. Her essay on the topic “India is 1.3 billion hearts, one love” was also featured by the prominent newspaper on its website, along with the essays of the other winners. The essay elaborated upon what factors unify more than 1.3 billion people in the country and how.
“Despite having such a huge population variety, Indians live together in harmony. We celebrate all festivals and share the same feelings for our motherland. The soldiers of our nation are not divided into regiments based on the language they speak in or the religion they follow. They have only one goal: protecting our motherland. Everyone fights for the same cause,” read an excerpt from the Ryan International School student’s essay.
Another Ryanite, Saanvi Rahul Pandya from Ryan Christian School, Borivli, was also among the students who were awarded the scholarship.
Writing an essay about what the top three priorities of the new Maharashtra government should be, Saanvi elaborated upon the need of “One family, One car” policy in the state.
“Our government should implement a one-family-one-car policy as it will reduce pollution, and help family members spend more time with each other. The government should improve our public transport. I think the main objective of a good government is to take care of us,” the Ryan International student wrote.
