Has Gully Boy made it to every gully of the country? The movie officially becomes the biggest opener of 2019!

Gully Boy is a movie causing a whirl whip all around the gullies of the country, and internationally as well. The movie has been recorded to smash the box office in its first week, minting Rs 19.40 cr on its first day alone.  The Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer movie has managed to cross 71 crore during its first week of the release as well.  
The soaring rage is not just limited to the periphery of our country, but has also managed to garner the interest of international film market as well.

Zoya Akhtar’s directed film features some applauding performances, and is touted to be an instant classic. Gully Boy earned Rs 19.40 crore on Thursday but the collections decreased to Rs 13.10 crore on Friday. The earnings climbed again on Saturday and Sunday, with Rs 18.65 crore, and Rs 20.50 crore respectively.

The movie has also gained a favorable impression in the minds of critics, and renowned review sites such as IMDb (8.6 stars), BookMyShow (4.5) stars, etc. The movie can credit its success to the positive word-of-mouth, and good reviews.

It has also managed to impress the audience with its connecting storyline, and mind-grasping rap numbers. Also it has managed to gather extra publicity with international stars such as Will Smith praising Ranveer’s rapping skills on social media.

Gully Boy is the story that revolves around an aspiring rapper, Murad (played by Ranveer) who stops at nothing to make it big in the industry, creating a distant identity for himself. Alia Bhatt plays his supportive girlfriend, and a medical student, with her own share of struggles in life. Closely based on Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy’s lives, the film’s USB is its unique focus on Mumbai’s street hip hop culture.
