Here’s how Nick and Priyanka inspired a wave of multicultural weddings

Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences and arrive at its destination, full of hope”- Maya Angelou

We often hear that love knows no race or distance, but rarely come across a relationship that cuts through these obstacles, and emerge victorious. Blushing the color of virtue, the bedazzling wedding of Priyanka Chopra, and Nick Jonas was not ordinary. The wedding brought together two worlds, and tied them into unification. It helped bring a wave of acceptance, and celebration of love through the multicultural wedding.

As fusion of Indian, and western culture, the wedding inspired people to come together, and profess their bi-cultural affection. People took to social media to express a sense of relief, gratitude, and support to the wedding.

Here’s how people took to twitter for the wedding of the year

Not just mitigating cross-border, and cultural differences, the age-gap didn’t hinder their strength as a couple, and people couldn’t resist but back it.

Priyanka Chopra, and Nick Jonas’s multicultural wedding also managed to highlight the rich cultural history behind Hindu rituals, and their integration with non-traditional ceremonies. The unification did not sabotage their distinct backgrounds.

Chopra told People, who will publish their wedding photo album in their upcoming issue, that Jonas’ proposal to have two ceremonies “melted my heart. Being able to have two big weddings in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.” she said.

People also wrote about how they drew personal inspiration from the majestic wedding. One such story is of Roshani Chokshi, where she writes: “Seeing Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Break Tradition Took my Wedding Stress Away.” The bride-to-be is someone who identifies as both Indian, and Filipina. She said “Like the rest of the world, I devoured the photos from the extravagant Jaipur wedding of Priyanka Chopra. Here were two people who fused their cultures to create a wedding that was both traditional and non-traditional—in front of the entire world. In my opinion, it worked perfectly, and ahead of my own bi-cultural wedding in March, it gave me a much-needed sense of relief.

The elaborate wedding made Nick and Priyanka’s romance not only dominate the headlines, but also left a personal impression on people across the globe.
