“Arrogant and power-hungry”, Sonia Gandhi defines BJP

NEW DELHI: In a recent development, Sonia Gandhi, former Congress Chief, accused BJP of being “arrogant and power hungry”. She also said that the party’s “dramebaaz” attitude would see the rise of Congress in Karnataka and then in the entire nation.

At the 84th plenary of the Congress, she also instructed her party workers to not give into intimidation and power plays, which she mentioned the Bhartiya Janta Party is largely doing. Sonia also mentioned BJP’s behavior as “dictatorial” and “intolerant”.

Referring to Congress as a “movement” and not just a “political term”, she said the poll results in MP, Rajasthan and Gujarat have given the answer to everyone who wanted to erase their identity. She mentioned the recent polls and the approaching Assembly elections right at the beginning of her speech.

“The Modi government talked of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas, na khaunga, na khane doonga, all gimmicks to get votes,” she said as thousands of party workers gathered for the plenary erupted into a loud cheer.

Sonia Gandhi said that BJP is only working towards making India “Congress-mukt” and nothing else. They are not working towards advancing the country.

“In the last four years, BJP has done everything possible in order to disrupt Congress from the nation. But Congress has never bent and will never bend in future,” said the former party president.

She also mentioned that Indian citizens need a corruption-free and vendetta-free India, not a Congress-free one.

“The Modi government’s disrespect for the Constitution and Parliament, autocratic behavior, false cases against Congress leaders, the media harassment… in all of this, it is only Congress at the forefront. We are unmasking Modi and all his frauds with evidence,” spoke Sonia Gandhi in her blazing self.

The Congress ex-president also spoke about her son Rahul Gandhi, who took over as party president in December 2017. She said that it was really a difficult time for Rahul to have taken over the position.
