Rahul Gandhi willing to work with others as BS Yeddyurappa quits

Appointed as the Chief Minister of Karnataka two days ago, BS Yeddyurappa resigned from the post even before the floor test was conducted.

Although, BS Yeddyurappa started his speech by attacking the Congress-JDS alliance ahead of the crucial floor test, but ultimately ended it by resigning at the Karnataka chief minister. This wasn’t expected just two days after the Karnataka election result.

BS Yeddyurappa went on to meet and shake hands with JDS chief Deve Gowda and senior Congress leaders, including Ghulam Nabi Azad after the announcement. The victory signs were immediately flashed by the JDS-Congress MLAs and started celebrating inside the house. The JDS and Congress leaders announced that they are now waiting for the Governor to call them.

Yeddyurappa was briefly interrupted by former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah during his speech. He asked the former to move the trust motion while BS Yeddyurappa went did not keep away from the attacks. “I don’t do party politics. I do people’s politics,” he said.

Karnataka election was turning out to be a roller coaster ride for BJP before they went out of steam at the last moment.

Talking about his vision, Yeddyurappa also said, “My only aim to form the government was to serve the farmers and Dalits who were suffering.” He had earlier spoken to BJP president Amit Shah over phone amid rumours of his resignation. In the meantime, Congress MLAs Anand Singh and Pratap Gouda Patil, who had been incommunicado for a while and missed the oath-taking ceremony in the Assembly came back in the Assembly.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi said that he has willing to work with others and had no issues with anyone. Now, what remains to be seen is how the President approaches this issues at the end of it all.
