Why are tethered UAVs the best choice for industrial monitoring operations of large scale?

Rajat Khare led global investment firm Boundary Holding was attracted to the company earlier. The Luxembourg-based fund was a key investor that assessed the potential for Elistair’s futuristic technology and supported the ongoing research. Elistair is set to increase its UAV sales in Europe and the USA with Series B funding.

Many industries have noticed an increase in advanced UAVs over the last few decades. Tethered UAVs, especially when it comes to industrial surveillance, are better suited to perform operations in a seamless fashion. UAVs can now be used in new areas thanks to cutting-edge technology.

Since the commercialization of tethered-drone technology started, its popularity has increased. It is now considered an integral component of industrial monitoring operations. A tethered UAV system is composed of a base/power station, drone transmitter, and drone. The drone connects to the powerstation via the tether. Tethered UAV stations are able to be used from remote locations and can perform many tasks. They’re suitable for large-scale industries.

Tethered drones can be used for many purposes but are most commonly used for observation and telecommunication. Due to their reliability, UAVs are ideal for data capture, live transmission, and telemetry. Tethered drones come with some limitations. They are slow to fly, difficult to use, and have a limited range of capabilities.

Despite this, their popularity is on the rise, especially with Elistair and other companies working to improve productivity and efficiency in the tethered-drone market. The French company manufactures tethered aircraft systems. It supplies customized tethered stations that bridge the gap to all its clients. Elistair, which is mostly suited to the industrial market, was able to raise around $6million in a series-B funding round just a few weeks ago.

Tethered UAVs have been proven more efficient in three specific areas, including inventory management and indoor intra-logistics. UAVs with this capability are more effective than regular inspections. They can be used to stop theft and other unwanted behavior while allowing companies the freedom to concentrate on their other business areas.
