The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) of Hyderabad has approved the state’s proposal for setting up an Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in the city. Hyderabad has become one of the big industrial hubs of the country as it is getting major investment boosts. The ITIR covers Gachibowli, Madhapur, Maheshwaram, Mamidipalli, Raviryal and Adibatla in the south and Uppal and Pocharam areas. The project is modeled along the lines of Shenzhen SEZ in China with a spread across an area of 50,000 acres and an investment potential of Rs. 2.19 lakh crore in Information Technology and Electronic Hardware manufacturing. Development of one fourth of ITIR’s area is undertaken by Aliens Developers Private Limited.
