1. Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court has refused to allow a suspended Muslim policeman to keep a beard while in service. The court said keeping a beard by a member of a disciplined force may not be protected under Article 25. It said not shaving the beard despite directions from higher officials is “misdemeanour, misdeed and delinquency” of the policeman.

2. Seven members of two Dalit families were thrashed by local residents in a village in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on suspicion of practising “black magic and possessing spirits.

3. State-run oil companies reduced petrol and diesel prices across India on Tuesday after a one-day pause. This is the second cut in petrol prices in the last three days. A 15 paise cut took petrol price in Delhi to ₹101.49/litre and diesel to ₹88.92. In Mumbai, petrol now costs ₹107.52/litre, while diesel is being sold at ₹96.48.

1. The Mumbai Police and Food and Drugs Administration raided two locations in the city on Monday and recovered 2,200 vials of Remdesivir, the drug which is in high demand to treat the coronavirus disease.
