HP launches smart printers with whole range of new technologies

Good news for SMB owners; Printers with varied choice of features and technology launched in the market

A recent study by Hewlett-Packard(HP) found that nearly 70 percent of Small and Mid-Size Business(SMB) owners state that their business cannot run without a printer. Luckily, for these business people, today, there is plethora of printer choices with different features and technologies.

Mobile ready

With most of the printers these days having a built-in wifi, printing from one’s own mobile phone seems more convenient than from PC or laptops. Mobile apps like Apple Airprint, Mopria, Google Email print, HP print app and Microsoft Office lens have made printing easier, generating high resolution printouts.

Ink subscription options

The need to constantly replace inks is always a tedious task. Multifunction printers can now sense when the printer is running short of ink and automatically orders the next batch. So choosing printers with ink subscription services would be a wise choice for business.

Anneliese Olson of HP noted, “We’ve learned from our customers that their primary driver behind HP Instant Ink adoption is the convenience they will not run out of ink and interrupt their operations. To reinforce this, we send an extra set of cartridges to customers enrolling on the 500 or 700 page plans.”

Easy ink and toner refills

The multistep process of changing the ink or toner has been eased by the new innovations that have been introduced in the smart printers lately. HP recently launched the HP Neverstop Laser Printer, the first quick-refill toner that could refill a printer in 15 seconds with efficiency.

In addition to the need of the consumers, the manufacturers are also being extremely mindful of environment. For example, Xerox is currently studying on eco-friendly ink and toner solutions.

Apart from this, there are SMB focused features that have recently been introduced by HP like self-healing Wifi that detects connectivity issues and immediately fixes it. Voice activated printing with voice assistants such as Alexa, Google voice are also available that allows hands-free printing.
