Sahara India Pariwar’s range of electric bikes, Sahara EVOLS recently partnered with Hero Electric to launch a high-speed electric scooter AE-75. The scooter was showcased by Hero at Auto Expo 2020.
This year’s expo is being noted for the unveiling of several ‘green’ vehicles. A large number of renowned vehicle makers have also gone eco-friendly this year by launching their electric vehicles.
The scooter showcased by Hero Electric, AE-75 is manufactured as a joint venture of Sahara India and Hero. It has a range of 80 km, with a top speed of 45 km per hour. Along with AE-75, Hero also showcased a low-speed model, AE-8, which has a range of 80 km and a top speed of 25 km per hour.
Apart from the partnership with Hero, Sahara India is also planning to launch two new electric motorcycles – Whiz ES and Whiz SE – in the near future. Currently, Sahara EVOLS manufactures two electric scooters – Classic and JMT 1000, and an electric three-wheeler named Veera.
During the launch event for Sahara EVOLS, the group founder Subrata Roy Sahara had said, “We are proud to introduce for the first time, a complete ecosystem of electric vehicles in India. Sustainable and environment-friendly modes of transportation are the need of the time. The Sahara EVOLS range of electric vehicles is going to be our contribution towards alternative, sustainable and eco-friendly modes of transportation.”
Apart from manufacturing more electric vehicles, Sahara EVOLS is also planning to provide a complete ecosystem for electric vehicles. This will include batteries and charging stations for these vehicles. The company is currently operating primarily in Lucknow, and is expected to roll out its services to more tier 2 and tier 3 cities by the end of the upcoming fiscal year.
